Dance Arena

‘Dance Arena’ is an event designed to inspire and enable young people to develop their creativity and performance skills whilst working alongside professional choreographers.
On the 18th May 2007, six Hampshire secondary schools took part and it was won by a dance group from Redbridge Community School.
The event was supported and financed by Creative Partnerships Southampton and the Isle of Wight, and led by Wise Moves, an organisation that specialises in providing schools across the UK with professional artists in all disciplines of the arts.
Janet Aughey from Creative Partnerships Southampton and the Isle of Wight says: “The teamwork and commitment to learning new dance techniques from professional chorographers was evident in all the schools’ performances.
There was also a very positive response to the advice given by the panel of judges which will enable the teams to improve their skills still further.”
