Champion Behaviours
by Leap.plc

‘Champion Behaviours’ is a program that delivers workshops through schools for young people who are in danger of exclusion from school and society, who are demonstrating unacceptable behaviour and who would benefit from developing ‘champion behaviours’ – behaviour associated with their favourite sports stars, successful business people and so on.
Because those working at Leap are not the usual ‘authority figures’ such as teachers or police, they can be open and honest with the young people, and they have found that they respond extremely well.
The one-day workshops are aimed at 11-15 year olds and are a mix of activities, challenges, discussion and interaction with a positive accent on responsibility, choices, language and so on. ‘Champion Behaviours’ has been developed as an innovative method of early intervention – young people are reached before they are potentially excluded from school and before they make wrong turns in life that could be tricky to come back from.
