Southampton has several museums, including those dedicated to archaeology, maritime and aviation. There is also the Medieval Merchant’s House, which is one of the earliest surviving. Find out more about Southampton’s museums below.

Friends of Southampton’s Museums Archives and Galleries
(FOSMAG) support, assist and promote the work of our galleries and museums which house important collections of paintings, sculpture, documents and artefacts
University of Southampton, Hartley Library Exhibition Gallery - shows themed exhibitions from the Archives and Manuscripts department at the University. There is also a gallery space on Level 4 of the Library which regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions or displays relating to the exhibtion in the main gallery.
