Travelling around Southampton by bus is a breeze. All towns and suburbs are connected to the city centre via the main bus operators with half hourly services to most neighbouring towns (see our Public Transport map for bus stop locations):

Unilink - Travelling throughout the city including stops at University of Southampton buildings and the Southampton Airport
CityLink - The CityLink bus service operates every 30 minutes (every 15 minutes during evening commuter hours) between Southampton's Central station (South Side) and Red Funnel's ferry terminals via the WestQuay shopping centre. The journey time (Southampton Central <> Town Quay ferry terminals) is approximately 7 minutes. 
Night Bus - Travelling from middnight, the bus services call at various locations across the region including Eastleigh, Hedge End, Millbrook, Shirley, Netley, Bitterne, Thornhill, Waterside and Winchester.

Direct local rail services via South West Trains run to Totton, Romsey, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh and Southampton Airport from Southampton Central. There are also 7 local stations at Redbridge, Millbrook, Swaythling, St. Denys, Bitterne, Woolston and Sholing.


National Express provide more than 500,000 coach journeys to and from Southampton Coach Station every year with the most popular journeys to London, Bournemouth and Portsmouth.
