Southampton is the place to be this Festive Season

With the traditional Christmas market, late night shopping in hundreds of shops, the Mayflower Theatre’s pantomime, the Esplanade ice rink, a huge variety of bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs, and all of the Christmas lights and decorations throughout the city, Southampton is shaping up to be the only place to enjoy Christmas this year.

Winning Winter Windows Competition

Don’t forget to drop into the independent areas of the city for more Christmas shopping and the chance to win a £100 voucher.  A total of 39 businesses in East Street, Bedford Place and London Road are taking part in GO! Southampton’s Winning Winter Window competition, dressing their windows for your viewing pleasure!
To enter the draw to win the £100 voucher, download the voting card for East Street and for Bedford Place / London Road, visit the participating shops, and write down your favourite 3 windows on the voting card.  You can then place the card in the voting boxes located inside certain shops.  See the voting card for more details.  Alternatively you can vote online by clicking here for the Bedford Place / London Road competition and here for the East Street Competition.

Photo Opportunities

As well as the bustling Christmas market and the beautiful ice rink on the Esplanade, you’ll find two giant baubles (installed by GO! Southampton Business Improvement District) in the Cultural Quarter.  One is located at the Guildhall entrance to East Park (near Mettricks) while the other is in front of the SeaCity Museum. The huge Christmas tree in Guidlhall Square is another great photo opportunity. Please selfie to your heart’s delight and then post them on Facebook.com/gosoton!
