Early ideas for the planned Royal Pier Waterfront development will be on display to the public on 11 July 2014. The event will take place at Westgate Hall (formerly known as Tudor Merchants Hall), Westgate Street, Southampton SO14 2AY, from 3-8pm.
RPW (Southampton) Limited, Southampton City Council’s selected development partner, is inviting members of the public to attend, to find out more about the project, meet the design team and to input into the design process. It will also be an opportunity to provide feedback on some of the initial design ideas.
This £400 million development project is one of the council’s seven VIP Projects from its City Centre Master Plan. It will transform the landscape of Southampton’s waterfront, showcasing the international face of the city as a great place to live, work and enjoy.
Royal Pier Waterfront, encompassing Mayflower Park, represents an unprecedented opportunity to create an exciting and world-class waterfront development for Southampton, including the extension and re-design of the park.
Further details of the proposals are available on the following websites: www.royalpierwaterfront.com. The exhibition material and feedback forms will be available on these websites following the 11 July event.
Following this initial consultation, there will be further opportunities for the public and interested parties to feed back on the proposals at future events. It is anticipated that planning applications will be submitted early in 2015.
