Future Southampton

Major City Developments

Southampton has a multitude of city developments planned for the next 20 years; some of which are already charging ‘full steam ahead’ (see our City Centre Master Plan page for details). While our visionary plans bubble away, enthusiasm for these projects is already palpable among the local community of residents and businesses, with much interest being shown from investors further afield. After all, many of our plans have our residents’ and businesses’ interests at heart, and will ensure economic, cultural and social development in the city.

Once realised, these projects will consolidate our city as a leading, low-carbon hub for business and leisure. We hope you will be as excited as we are about the extensive urban developments outlined in our City Centre Master Plan, as well as our vision for comprehensive regeneration and improvement work in other parts of the city. We are in no doubt that our bold transformations will attract more and more people to Southampton over the coming years.
