For an exclusive period from the 21 – 26 September, Events in the Sky will operate a 4 day pop-up event in Southampton. Open to the public, this event will see some of the areas best restaurants transfer their menus and dining experiences to our unique sky table, suspended 100 feet in the air.
The table seats 22 guests, with a guest chef, sommelier and waiting team serving from the pop-up kitchen in the centre of the table in the sky. Guests are securely fastened into their seats before the table is raised to the dining height of 100 feet and their gourmet experience begins.
This event will see some of the areas best restaurants transfer their menus and dining experiences to our unique sky table.

How does a typical event work?
Guests arrive 45 minutes before "take off" and taken through the registration process. Guests are fastened in using three safety belts. Once all the safety checks are complete, the table is lifted into the sky to start the dining experience.
How does one use the toilets?
The table is lowered to the ground after each flight for comfort breaks where there are facilities provided.
Is Southampton in the Sky safe?
Safety is Events in the Sky’s foremost priority. The trademarked Sky Tables are designed according to the German DIN 4112 certification, globally regarded as one of the toughest safety certifications to obtain and produced in Belgium under control of Rheinland TÜV. The tables are regularly checked by independent third party experts and maintained to ensure maximum safety for clients and staff.
- Only trained and fully qualified staff are involved in the lift and operations of each event.
- An experienced Lift Supervisor takes responsibility for each event and is the final signatory on the running order and checklists.
- A safety zone is fenced off with security control barriers. No one except staff are allowed in the safety zone.
- Guests are escorted to their allocated seat by the trained staff who fasten their safety belts and double checked by the Lift Supervisor.
- All guests are given a safety briefing. A supervisor is on board for each and every lift to monitor guest behaviour and health and safety requirements. The supervisor is in constant radio communication with the ground crew.
- All cranes and other equipment are checked according to Health and Safety requirements.
Does Southampton in the Sky have the necessary insurance?
Yes, each event is covered by £10 million public liability and third party insurance.
When is a flight cancelled?
A flight can be postponed or cancelled due to dangerous and inclement weather. Should a flight be cancelled guests will be offered a refund or the opportunity to rebook during the event.
Max weight of 120kg applies.
