The Southampton Magazine is produced by Southampton City Council in partnership with Business South to promote Southampton to the local, regional, national and international inward investment and business markets.

This edition demonstrates the city’s continued economic growth and has a number of interviews with businesses investing and growing their business in Southampton and features MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo, who has opened her first restaurant in Southampton, as the cover story.

There is an interview with the new Port Director Alastair Welch and an in-depth discussion with leading hotelier Robin Hutson.

Micro-brewing is all the rage and in Southampton there are some great businesses making delicious beer and not forgetting the café society revolution.  Spencer Bowman, who is leading a one-man café society revolution in the city, is featured.

With many of the VIP developments completed or underway, Mike Harris, Director of Growth considers progress so far and how the city council want to encourage further investors and highlights the next phase of development for the city – the Central Business District (CBD) – land running from the south of Southampton Train Station to the proposed Royal Pier Waterfront development.  A new CBD would include offices, homes, cafes and bars and retail outlets for Southampton.
