Policing Through The Ages
Hampshire Constabulary is proud to announce that the Policing Through The Ages event will be held in Southampton, hosted by Westquay on Saturday 6 October, 2018 from 10am – 4pm on The Esplanade.
The event has been organised in partnership with Westquay, Hammerson, SouthamptonGo!, Southampton City Council and external volunteers with a passion for policing.
Policing Through The Ages is an event that showcases how policing has changed over time, with exhibits from all over the world, including vintage American cop cars and preserved UK police vehicles including cars and motorbikes from the 70s, 80s and 90s up until the present day. There’ll be a modern twist with Hampshire Constabulary’s new roads policing vehicles and communications vans with up-to-date telecoms technology.
Head for the City Walls where policing in the past and present will come alive throughout the day with voices from Hampshire Constabulary’s choir and performances from the Force’s band. Meet PC Bobby Panda out on patrol around the city, armed with stickers and goodies for those who want to get involved and find out more about how the look and feel of policing has changed over time.
There will also be a chance to meet Hampshire Constabulary’s Special Constables, The Speedwatch team and Cadets.
The event is on Saturday 6 October between 10am and 4pm on The Esplanade, nestled between the historic backdrop of the Bargate and City Walls and the new tiers of modern bars and restaurants to set the tone for a time travelling experience.
