Bluestar names Southampton Hospital Charity as its official good cause for 20173rd March 2017
Bluestar is throwing its support behind Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity - as its official Charity of the Year for 2017.
The local bus operator will spend the year raising funds and awareness to help the charity raise money towards the new Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department at Southampton Children’s Hospital. The new development will create a safe and specialised place for children to receive the very best care and attention, allowing staff to continue saving lives in the highest quality environment.
“Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity is a crucial local resource, helping to enhance the care and treatment of young patients at University Hospital Southampton. “Many of our own team have benefited directly from the support Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity provides so we are all delighted to be backing this very worthy cause, and raising as much money as possible over the coming year,” said Bluestar managing director, Andrew Wickham.
Bluestar has a busy calendar of fundraising planned in partnership with the charity, including bad hair days and cake bakes - as well as a special ‘boss in a bus’ and ‘go mad, go blue’ events.
Amy McBrayne, from Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the employees who generously supported Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity by voting us as Bluestar’s 2017 Charity of the Year. We are absolutely thrilled that they would like support our new appeal for a new Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department.”
