Marwell Wildlife is excited to announce that Co-Operative Food has joined the stampede and sponsored a Marwell’s Zany Zebras sculpture
With over 2,800 stores across the UK, including nearly 40 convenience stores throughout Southampton, the Co-op is one of the UK’s leading operators of convenience stores. Providing its customers with quality and responsibly-sourced delicious food conveniently – as well as supporting British farmers - the Co-op is committed to helping producers in the developing world through its long-standing commitment to Fairtrade.
Jo Shaw, Divisional Marketing Manager said: “We have chosen to support the Marwell's Zany Zebras campaign as this is a great way to help our local community and schools, educating children about the importance of conservation and the environment.”
Southampton and Marwell Zoo will become the home to a herd of colourful zebra sculptures that will pop up across the city and wildlife park as part of a public art event that promises to create an unforgettable trail for families to enjoy.
Kirstie Mathieson, Project Manager for Marwell’s Zany Zebras said: “We are thrilled that Co-Operative Food has recognised the huge opportunity that Marwell’s Zany Zebras presents in showcasing their convenience stores to the hundreds of thousands of trail-goers. The project unites the business, artistic and academic communities to create something very special, all whilst highlighting the plight of the endangered Grevy’s zebra”
