The flagship event - Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile will take place in Southampton Mile Event Sunday 21 March. Southampton Milers can choose to do 1,3, or 6 miles, so they can select the distance that is a challenge for them and make sure they get sponsored while they do it. Sport Relief harnesses the power and passion of sport to change lives for the better. By doing sport, having fun and raising money, everyone can do good and feel good. Comic Relief spends the money raised to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and in the world's poorest countries.

Help to Save the Broadlands Archives

Help to Save the Broadlands Archives

The Broadlands Archives have been on loan to the University of Southampton since 1989 and are one of the most important manuscript collections in their care. The Trustees of the Broadlands Archives have determined to sell the collection and have offered it to the University. The expectation is that if negotiations fail, the collection will be sold at auction, and may well be broken up and dispersed, with many parts not finding places in public repositories. The University is undertaking a major fund-raising campaign to the sum of £2.85 million to assure the future of the collection.

The current exhibition focuses on Hodgkin’s accomplishments as a printmaker. The title, As Time Goes By, is taken from the two monumental works, exhibited at Southampton for the first time in a public gallery. Alongside this new work, the exhibition features a number of other prints showing a long standing development and dialogue with this medium.
